First Swim of the Season

It's been hot enough to heat Nana and Papa's pool so daddy and Aubrey went for dip :). She got cold in about 5 minutes but she enjoyed every second of it. I bet she can't wait till summer.

She's All Girl

The other day Aubrey decided to go "shopping."  She didn't want to just go in any old outfit.  She really wanted some heels.

 

So she went into our closet and got some heels that I wore for a friend's wedding I was in.

 

I just had to capture the moment.  She is definitely more girly than me!

I then found her behind the couch with her purse and shoes putting chapstick on :).

Our Garden

A few weeks ago Brandon and his dad built a planter box and we finally started our own little garden. 

 

 

We planted butter lettuce, strawberries, peas, yellow squash, and two types of tomatoes.  The garden is growing really well.

 

It's been really fun to see how excited Aubrey is about seeing the plants grow and water them every day.  When we first put the planter in Aubrey helped plant the peas.  After she placed the peas she sat on the edge of the planter and stated, "now they can grow...I will wait." 

 

Well, the waiting is over for some of the plants.  Aubrey picked her first strawberry the other day and a piece of the lettuce which she calls "salad."  She loves to go out there and see how things are growing each day and although sprinklers are set up, she sure does a great job of watering :).

 

 

 

I Guess It Wasn't Interesting Enough

So I was reading one of Aubrey's Curious George books to both of the girls and for the life of me I couldn't get Lucy to go down before the book, yet during the book she just conked out! I guess the story wasn't interesting enough for her :)

Loves to Paint

Aubrey loves to paint.  She loves to "paint" with water outside all the time as well as with real paints.  The other day I didn't really have anything she could paint and I wasn't sure where exactly I "organized" my paints, so we stuck with one color and a printout of her name.  She loved it just the same as if I had 10 colors. 

 

We got her little crafting apron on and she got to painting...

 

 

I just love these little moments :)

A Date With Aunt and Uncle

A little while back when we had all our family from out of town here Jeremy and Krystal took Aubrey out on a date just the three of them.

Aubrey got her special soy hot chocolate and she couldn't be more excited :).

With all the business with little Lucy arriving it was so special for Aubrey to get special treatment for a little bit and to get some one-on-one time with her uncle and aunt. Thanks Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Krystal for making the time to treat this little girl! She just loves you guys!

Lucy's First...

smile! Here was a little one after her big smile. Too bad I couldn't catch a good big smile before she got fussy again but I know we'll be seeing more of them! This makes the hard days and nights all worth it :)

Lucy's 1st Month

This month has kind of been a blur in the Pierce household.  This first month of Lucy's life has gone by so quickly!!

 

 

At one month Lucy:

- follows objects with her eyes

- likes the sound of a rattle

- doesn't really care for the pacifier

- has a very forceful cry

- has some tummy issues that are hard to pinpoint, but we're still working on that

- compared to her sister, is less of a screamer but is pretty fussy a lot of her waking hours

- REALLY hard to put down to sleep.  When she finally falls asleep it is time to wake her up in 1/2 an hour.

- she's a pretty good nurser

- likes being in a baby carrier

- likes to look at the lights in her room and stares at them when she is being changed

- doesn't really like tummy time

- likes to be cuddled and be held :)

 

 

Lucy is one special little girl and a lot of times we talk about how we can't believe she's here :)! 

 



 

We are just in love with every detail of her!

When this girl is asleep she is OUT!



 

Aubrey is trying to get used to having Lucy around all the time.  Aubrey definitely doesn't like it when we have to bring a crying Lucy into her room during her bedroom routine.  Aubrey is such a caring sister and is SUCH a great great helper though.  She'll pretty much do whatever we ask if it's for Lucy. 

 



 

Aubrey also wants to squeeze her tight and hold her all the time. She's been a little rough with Lucy at times, but she's such a loving big sister and it is so cute to see. She'll go up to Lucy and call her "sweet girl" and say "it's okay" in a very sweet voice when Lucy is crying. Aubrey is also learning to be more independent which is kind of a hard learning curve for her, but she's doing great!

 



 

 We have soaked up the time with daddy being home for a month!  It will be an adjustment with him working a lot of nights and overtime, but we are so thankful he had the time at home for four weeks.  It was busy but SO good to have him home! 

 

The second time around as parents is a little easier we feel in a lot of ways.  We're not as anxious and we don't jump to call the doctor for everything.  At least we feel like we can do this and not be so worried about every little thing :).   We're taking our time trying to figure this little one out.

 

Lucy looks so similar to Aubrey, yet she definitely has her own look to her.  We think she's a keeper :).

 

Our little Lucy is one loved girl. Happy one month Lucy!!! Can't wait for what the next months hold!
