Monterey Getaway 2020

We've been in quarantine for some time and after we started back with distance learning again (both teaching and learning for the girls), and a surgery for me, it was time to get away somehow.  Things are opening up a bit more again and we decided to take a last minute trip to Monterey.  We asked the Purintons if they wanted to join us, and they did!

It was a great time with very little plans except for enjoying the fresh air, the beach, good food, and the company of good friends.  A MUCH needed time away...especially for this momma!

Monterey 2018

During the month of July, we got a chance to get away just the four of us to Monterey.  We stayed at the Lighthouse Cottage and it was the perfect walking distance to so many beautiful sights.  We biked, walked around, checked out some tide pools, went on a hike, played in the ocean waves, enjoyed making sand castles, collected sea shells and even more rocks, tried to catch a beautiful sunset (we all literally ran to the shoreline to get a glimpse, all just a little too late), ate at some wonderful, quaint restaurants, and enjoyed the salty sea air.  It was good to get away.

These girls rode 13 miles one day.  We actually couldn't believe they made it that far, and they were sweetly rewarded with a treat of their choice in Canary Row.  We were so proud of them!

This is Aubrey now...

Time seems to go by so fast sometimes...
