We're having a ...

We're excited to be having another little girl join our family!

We announced it to our families by having them open up a package with a pink bundt cake in it.  Needless to say they were all pretty surprised as everyone thought we were having a boy :).  Some of our friends were also very surprised with the news.

Having another girl should make things a LOT easier on the budget.  It also helps that little Norah's parents offerred to let us borrow some of Norah's adorable clothes she's outgrown, which will help seeing that this baby will be born during a different season than Aubrey :).

Thanks for all the continued support and prayers!

Norah Hope is Here!!!

We officially welcomed Norah Hope Fox into our family at 1:30am on August 21, 2012 to proud parents, Jon and Krystal.  Weighing in at 8 lbs, 1 oz and 19.5 inches long, this little lady has her mom's long fingers and toes and her daddy's eyes.

The morning started out with Brandon getting ready to leave Utah and Krystal and Jon getting ready to go to the hospital for Krystal to be induced.  Kind of a stressful and emotional morning.

Krystal's bag was broken late morning and the waiting began.  I was able to be in the delivery room for a part of the day while her labor pains increased.  We watched The Proposal and some other cooking shows.  Poor Krystal couldn't eat anything so who knows why we were watching cooking shows to make her even more hungry...even her doctor commented on that sometime during the day :).  When the labor pains started getting more intense I let the two future parents be and I waited with Jon's parents, Bud and Lois, and his brother Joe in the waiting room.  Aubrey was being well taken care of the whole day by Jackie and Nate and loved on once again by all of the Fox kids.  She did awesome at their house and I was so grateful to get to spend as much time as I did with my sister during this time.  It meant so much to me that Jackie was so willing to take on our little girl for the day!  Thank you Jackie!!

As we waited in the waiting room we again, even though we were hungry, we watched Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives, and really that should never be watched at midnight.  You just get too hungry!  The evening was filled with great conversation to calm our anxiousness in anticipation for this little lady's arrival.

At about 1:30 she arrived and we got to meet this little girl about an hour later :)

We are so excited that little Norah is finally here!  We are so proud of my sister during this delivery and  Jon for being such a good coach. We can't wait to see Jon and Krystal raise this little miracle and to share this road of parenthood together.  We can't wait for the memories, to watch Norah grow and change, and for Aubrey to have a cousin to share their own memories with.  We are so thankful for God's little blessings :)

First Bath

After her cord stump came off (or actually pulled off by her!) we got to give Aubrey her first bath.  It was a little bit of an ordeal, but we managed.  She did seem to enjoy it at moments, but for the most part not that big of a fan being in water again.  Hopefully she'll enjoy it soon!

Aubrey's first week

This week was full of visitors and spending time as a family of three.  Brandon took the week off of work which was such a blessing.  Aubrey spent her days eating, sleeping, and pooping.  She loved to sleep on our chests.  She hates to be swaddled and contained too tightly, but she sleeps better that way.  We had a friend let us borrow a sleep sack and that has been such a life saver!  Aubrey's eating habits need some work, but it's all a learning process and mom needs to be patient :)  We're still pretty exhausted and but thank goodness we have so much help around us!

Welcome home

After a couple of days in the hospital, we came home on Wednesday, November 10.  What a weird feeling to leave the house as two and then come home as three.  Weird, but exciting.

We had a fun surprise waiting for us when we got home.  Krystal and Jon had made Aubrey her first birthday cake!  What a memorable day :)

Aubrey is here!

So after nine months of waiting and anticipating, through months of swollen feet, vericose veins, and frequent trips to the bathroom, after 11 hours of labor, our little blessing is here!  Weighing in at 7 pounds, 2 oz and 19 1/2 inches long, she is more beautiful than we could have imagined :)  She is healthy and strong...and bald just like her mommy and daddy were. God has blessed us with the huge opportunity and responsibility of being parents, and we couldn't be more excited.  Welcome long awaited Aubrey!  Happy Birthday!!

She's almost here!

Sunday, November 7, Aubrey's due date was eventful.  That morning we got to go to church.  Brandon was playing bass in the worship band so we had to be there a little early that morning.  As we sat there, I couldn't feel baby move for two hours.  I went into a back room where I laid on my side, ate some mentos, and even had grape juice that was used for communion that day to get some sugar in my system and get some blood flowing.  To no avail.  As soon as Brandon was done playing, we rushed ourselves to the hospital.  Brandon even grabbed me a donut on the way out :)

As we got to the hospital, there was an alarm that was going off and people standing outside.  Of course I got more worried as each minute went by that I couldn't feel movement.  Finally, Brandon called in and it was just a false alarm that had gone off.  So as soon as we were signed in, they hooked me up to a monitoring system to see both mine and baby's heartbeat.  To my surprise she was absolutely fine and her heartbeat was strong.  My blood pressure, on the other hand, was not so great (even though I had no problems with it througout the pregnancy).  Every time I moved or got up the pressure shot up.  After three hours of being monitored, they admitted me for more monitoring during the night.  With that came an all liquid diet :(  We were supposed to go to Claim Jumpers that day too.  What a bummer.

Come Monday morning, November 8, doctor said that induction was the best option with all the blood pressure issues.  We were going to be parents today :)

Mary's baby shower

The following weekend, we had a third shower put on by my mother in law and family.  It was a beautiful tea party with all the little details.  Again, so blessed to have such wonderful family!
