Aunt Marta and Aunt Lidia Visit

Labor day weekend brought with it some visitors!  My aunt Marta and Lidia drove up from southern California and brought their cousin (who was visiting from Argentina) along.  Overall, it was a really fun and relaxed weekend together.  We ate, we swam, the girls played countless games of hide and seek, stayed up late, and had fun together.

We decided to take a trip to the coast on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend.  BIG mistake!  We made it to the lighthouse and then made our way into the city.  We drove around for over an hour just trying to find somewhere to park (even if it was a walk!), but to no avail.  We drove right back out of the city without seeing it's wonderful sights.  Disappointing.  Now we know never to go back on a major holiday weekend.

Here are the pictures of our first destination, however.  At least we got one thing checked off on our list for the day!

Despite the traffic, it was a beautiful day and made the most of it!

9th Anniversary

On June 7 we celebrated 9 years of marriage!  We wanted to try and go away for the night somewhere, but it just wasn't in the cards with me still teaching and Brandon not having the time off.  We made the best of our crazy schedules and got away for the afternoon and evening to Sausalito.

It was an overcast day, but the weather was perfect.  There was a light breeze and the air was crisp.  We went to local cafĂ© and sat with a coffee and a scone (in the middle of the afternoon!).  What a treat that was just to sit and be able to do that for a moment with no interruptions :).

We went to dinner to Poggio and then on the way back home we treated ourselves to some very yummy ice cream at Fenton's on the way home.

We talked, we laughed, and we enjoyed being just us for a little while.  Funny, when you're working and you're a parent, you sometimes forget what it was like to be "just us." :)

Happy 9th Anniversary Brandon!  Here's to many more years of doing life together with you!   I couldn't have asked for a better partner to live this life with and I am so incredibly thankful for every day with you!  I love you!

Seven Year {Anniversary}

Seven years.  What a blessing to have this guy by my side through the last decade!  The last seven years have had so much packed into it, and we wouldn't change a thing :).

We had the opportunity to get away on our anniversary weekend to Half Moon Bay.  We had come here a year before and we loved the place we stayed at, so we went back for a second time for a little longer period of time.  This weekend was little bit more chilly than the last time we had been here, but we both will take some colder weather rather than the heat we had back in Sacramento this particular weekend.

We had such a wonderful, much needed, time together.  We talked (and actually got to finish the conversations we started), we didn't listen to one children's song, ate some wonderful food, and biked together along the coast.  It was absolutely perfect and some time together that we desperately needed.

I think we can honestly say that we love each other more today than we did the day we got married.  We love the blessings of kids and our home and how we get to share and do life together.  We love the laughter we share and shoulder to lean on when one of "those" days just happened.  We love the fact that we have so many inside jokes and that when either one of us says a line we know exactly what the other means.  We love the time we spend together making memories with our girls and the precious time we have with them.  Our life is so full of so many blessings are we are so thankful for each and every one of the them.

And a BIG thank you to my parents and brother for watching our girls for us!! They had such a fun time I don't even think they missed us! :)

Here's to seven years Brandon!  And many more :).  I love you  (to the moon and back, to the moon, to the sun and back again :) )!

A Getaway Just the Two of Us

This little getaway was a long time coming.  It's been over two years since just Brandon and I have gone anywhere for more than a day.  This little trip was short but we got an entire 29 hours just the two of us :).

We've lived in California all of our lives and haven't once visited or been to Half Moon Bay, so Brandon took the reigns and sought out a super cute and quaint hotel and booked the trip.  It was beautiful and oh so relaxing.

The hotel we stayed at was called The Beach House and we would totally recommend it in a heartbeat!  It was such a nice treat to be overlooking the harbor and it felt like a cozy little beach house.  There was a walkway that went for miles on either side of the hotel so we took advantage of taking a long walk along the beautiful coastline.

It was a bit on the windy side (ok, I mean very windy), but it was gorgeous out!

We got there later in the day so we decided to have a bit of a progressive dinner and dessert.  We walked to a restaurant on one end of the harbor and then walked back to another restaurant to pick up some dessert.  At least we walked off some of the calories :).  All along the way we had some great uninterrupted conversations about so many things in our lives.

The next day we had some time after we checked out so we decided to talk a scenic walk along the other side of the main city.  We stumbled upon a path that lead to Manhattan Beach with cliffs, caves, and tide pools.

It was low tide so we got to see what was hidden only hours before.

The views were pretty hard to beat.

It was such a wonderful day and long overdue.  Thank you Brandon for making this trip such a priority!
