Krystal's Baby Shower

On June 16th, my mom, friends and I had the privilege of throwing my sister her very first baby shower.  It was a full house and a very hot day, but I think this little one and mom were showered with blessings that day :).

During the shower we didn't really have games, but we all pitched in and made the baby her first ABC book and we also made a blessing mobile for the nursery.  Each guest got a paper bird and wrote a word of encouragement or blessing and I put the mobile together later.  Hopefully this will hang in the little one's room as a memory of how special and blessed she really is :)

Our good friend, Jean Ann, said a little devotional that brought Krystal and lot of the room to tears.

Since it was so hot that day we made a big container of lemonade and each guest got to flavor their own drink with a fruit flavor.

My mother-in-law and aunt made these wonderful and adorable cookies.  Passionfruit macaroons and adorable baby feet sugar cookies.

Little Aubrey wanted in on the fun too! Can't you tell :)

Krystal's good friends from high school joined us.  These girls have been so supportive of each other through so many years.  Shannon even flew up from southern California for the shower!

These two are due 5 days apart!  Both having girls :)

We are just so excited for Jon and Krystal as they embark on this new journey of parenthood with us.  We also can't wait till Aubrey has a cousin and the memories we will all share.  We're praying for a smooth delivery come August.  We just can't wait to meet her!!!

A few projects we've been working on...

So this one was a combined family effort and I just had to share...

My good friend Jennifer is getting married in May and for her bridal shower gift I decided to make her a key hook.  I wanted to do something a little more personal.

Here's the final product!

My grandfather and dad made the actual frame, we spray painted chalkboard on the sides, and in the middle is glass with their wedding date and initials!  My sister made the logo (one creative girl!) and we made it into a vinyl decal to stick on the glass.  One of my favorite parts is the background behind the glass...you can change the paper/fabric behind it :).

I was just so proud of the final product and so proud of my family's talent.  The idea might have been mine, but I couldn't have done it without my wonderful family.  Thank you all so much!!

The bride and groom also arrived a little early :)

Happy Easter!

This year we had the opportunity to have two Easter celebrations.  We had our first one at Mike and Mary's house earlier in the week.  Aubrey got an Easter basket and got to wear her pretty dress for the first time.  Since I am still on the milk free diet the menu ended up being a little different than a regular Easter dinner would be, but it was delicious.  We had ribs, rice, grilled asparagus and Mimi made a dairy-free strawberry pie just for me!  I was so appreciative.  Aubrey was a little tired that evening, but we had a good time celebrating with wonderful family.

Our second celebration was on Easter Sunday with the Maz side of the family.  Krystal and Evie made cake pops for the table settings this year.  It was some work, but we had fun making them and they were a big hit :)

Aubrey and mom got to go to Aubrey's first Easter service at church and then it was on to lunch at the Maz home.  We had grilled kabobs, chicken phyllo (which because of the amount of work I won't be making it again any time soon :) ), and many other trimmings.  We also had a delicious cake baked by our favorite bakery Divine Desserts.  It was a milk explosion day for me which I thoroughly enjoyed!  It turned out to be such a beautiful day out side that the boys played crochet while the girls chatted.  Aubrey was awesome this day.  It was a wonderful first Easter!

The crochet game lasted a little longer than anyone anticipated, but they had fun :)

Good friends Craig and Mariela joined us for the afternoon.  They are expecting thier first baby girl in August!!

The pretty momma

Everything was in bloom in the backyard.  It was beautiful!

Without Christ we wouldn't have an Easter.  What a beautiful time we had celebrating what HE did for US on these days of celebration.

Greatest man in history, named Jesus, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him... He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today!
