The Girls [tea party]

Our little girls are growing up way too fast.  We wanted to take some pictures of the girls together and what could be more fun than a tea party.  Aubrey got this tea set (actually she got three sets!) for her first birthday and she's loved it since the minute she opened it.  Aubrey is all girl and she has loved having tea parties with anyone who will participate.

So we decided to take some pictures by our new favorite tree and picture taking spot.  Aubrey was as helpful as she always is with Lucy and showed her how to hold her cup and drink from it.  Even when Lucy wasn't using her cup the right way Aubrey swiftly corrected her.  Aubrey is so good with Lucy right now and we hope and pray these two will become great friends.

Here is their first little tea party together :).

Here's to many more tea parties in the future!  One day we'll use real tea cups and eat real food, but for now mom and dad will just enjoy this precious time with our two littles and the moments they spend together.

Norah's First Birthday

I think that this post is fitting to put up today as today is Norah's first birthday!!

A couple of weeks ago we had the chance to go back to Utah and celebrate Norah's first birthday! We drive the 11 hours on Wednesday. We made sure we were all packed and ready to go at 4:00 am. We got the girls up at the last minute and then we were off. We were pretty nervous about taking Lucy (who still screams during every car ride and doesn't sleep well) but to our surprise she really did awesome. We had a few hours where the screams seemed like they would never end, but she did great. Aubrey is a really good traveler and for one of the first times in her life she fell asleep in the car! There's just something about sleep with these girls :). We honestly couldn't have asked for smoother trip!!

Thursday and Friday were spent with family and getting ready for Norah's celebration.

Saturday arrived and the birthday girl was  the cutest little thing in the room! She totally matched the "little miss sunshine" theme in her adorable yellow dress.

My sister did an awesome job with all the decorations, details, and yummy food. I know she spent so much time preparing for this day and it all turned out so wonderful.  She is seriously so talented and anything she does turns out great.  She even made her dress own dress!

So we spent the afternoon celebrating this little ones life. We watched her devour and smash her cake into her hands and face.

She didn't really know what was going on at first...

...but she got the hang of it pretty quickly :).

She got so dirty she had to be washed in the sink (and she didn't mind it at all ) :).

We also watched her open her presents with her dad. Aubrey painted this card for Norah .

Of course the day was filled with lots of picture taking :). Lucy just couldn't get enough of Norah's face!

And we just had to get some of our little family :).

And one of my family (minus Jeremy :( )

Norah, we can't believe you're one already! This first year has flown by and it's been so exciting to see you grow and change. Our girls are so lucky to have such a fun loving, sweet, and happy cousin. We hope and pray the relationship between you and Aubrey and Lucy is strong despite any distance. We were so happy to get to be there and celebrate with you!! Happy birthday Norah! We love you!

I Want To Ride My Tricyle

This week we celebrated a milestone for this little blonde...no more diapers!!!  We have been going about this process for some time now and we decided that this week we would go cold turkey, both day and night, without diapers.  That day was a success, followed by the day after, and the day after that!  We're going on a little over a week now and I think we can finally say this girl is potty trained! She's been really good about telling us when she needs to go and we were very surprised that she can already make it through the nights.  This girl was definitely ready and we are so proud of her! It just seems a little weird that our little girl isn't in diapers anymore.  We're not complaining but it's crazy how fast time really flies!

To celebrate this big milestone we got Aubrey her first tricycle.  She couldn't have been more excited about it.  We took it for a test run and she got the hang of it in about 1/2 an hour.  Her steering still needs a little work as she ended up in the grass a few times, but she's on the right track!

We're so proud of you Aubrey girl!!  Enjoy your new bike!!

Of course I just couldn't help taking pictures of all the cuteness :).

Yeah, that is a butterfly in this picture.  It just happened to be flying around Aubrey :).

Daddy got to teach Aubrey to ride her tricycle.  This was always something he has looked forward to doing even when Aubrey was a baby.  She's growing up!

Great job Aubrey!!  You're getting to be such a big girl :).
