We Got Away For the Day (Half Moon Bay)

This season hasn't been the worst we've had in the past as far as colds and sickness, but it's been bad enough that it's just been tiring.  Lucy with her high fevers and coughing all around us, we've just been a little run down lately.

My parents were very gracious that take the girls for us (sick and all) so Brandon and I could just have the day together.

So, where do we go?...to one of our favorite places, Half Moon Bay :).

I've wanted these particular roses for some time now and they sell these plants in one of the nurseries there.  That was our first stop for the day.

We then went on to a little cafĂ© for a light lunch and walked along the beach, went out to The Barn for dinner, and on the way home went to Point Montara Lighthouse.  The lighthouse just happened to be a very quick, spur of the moment turn around along the highway, but boy are we glad we stopped!!

We were so thankful to be able to not be on a schedule for the day and take the time just for us during this busy, hectic season of our lives!

First Trip In The Motorhome!

Brandon's parents, in the past year, inherited a motorhome.  They have put quite a lot of work into it and now it was ready for its inaugural trip!  We went to Half Moon Bay to test this baby out and have some fun memories and time together!

The girls loved being in it and climbing on all levels of dash and cushions!

We spent a couple of nights there and spent some time playing in the waves, bike riding, taking walks, seeing bunnies (and trying to count them on the trails!), and enjoyed some s'mores and the campfire in the evenings.

We all enjoyed the trip and we'll be doing it again sometime in the future for sure!

Spring Break ~ Half Moon Bay

During spring break a few weeks ago we were feeling we just needed to get away, even if it was just for a day.  So we did, to one of our favorite places :).

The day we got to Half Moon Bay it was beautiful and sunny!  The wind was blowing a little, but boy was it nice to breath in some fresh ocean air!

We walked around a little (Brandon's foot is still healing, so we didn't walk as much as we probably would have), played in the hotel pool, ate some wonderful food, and finally took some time to relax together!

Lucy actually wanted me to take a picture of her at one point! :)

The girls enjoy the sand and the water so much!  Such easy entertainment at this age and it's so fun to watch them.

The many faces of Lucy :).

The next morning proved to be a little different weather wise, but it was still wonderful.

The girls had fun playing in the sand and playing with their sticks (of which Aubrey has had a fascination for since she was very little!).

On the way home we decided to take a little detour and visit the Jelly Belly Factory.  It was the perfect sweet ending to our short little getaway!

The trip was short and sweet, but just what we felt like we needed during this very stressful, hectic time in our lives!  Thank goodness for a teacher's schedule sometimes!
