March Tidbits 2018

Lucy had her preschool trike-a-thon this month and the girl completed 42 laps!

March was filled with lots of birthday celebrations for our little Lucy.  She had a little friend party, special birthday morning breakfast, and a birthday tea party.  This girl is very loved!

Celebrating Lucy's 5th Birthday

We had some fun celebrating Lucy's birthday with some friends and family.  It ended up being small and quaint and I think this little girl enjoyed herself!

We watched Sing, made some jelly bean microphones, and enjoyed the low key morning celebrating our little Lucy Grace.

This girl wanted a strawberries and cream jelly roll cake for her birthday, and that's what she got!

Her little smile and expressions light up a room!

She also got to celebrate her birthday at preschool where she got to bring a special treat of her choice, all the classes sang to her, and she got a bouquet of balloons and a book!

For her birthday breakfast Lucy requested French toast :).  This girl loves her sugar!

Happy 5th Birthday Lucy!!  We love you!

Happy 5th Birthday Lucy!

You are one hand old today! How did five years go by so quickly!

Lucy, you seriously make us laugh every single day. Whether it is something you said in your sweet voice or the very particular words you’ve chosen to use, the things you say crack us up all the time. Your humor is contagious. Your quirkiness is just one thing we love about you!

You are one independent girl. Although you like to read with us or play games with us, you are very content with just being by yourself and playing with all your dolls, cars and stuffed animals. You can entertain yourself so well. You’ve named every one of your stuffed animals (and there’s lots of them) and you remember their names and correct us if we get it wrong.

You’re a well rounded little girl. You love to dress up and take care of your baby dolls, but you also aren’t afraid to get dirty and play with cars, dig in the dirt, and make messes. You’re favorite color is still yellow, your favorite food is shrimp, you love to paint and color, and you love to bake and cook with mommy. You’re her little kitchen helper at any moment!

You can hold your own.  You stand up for yourself and what you want. When you make a decision it’s your final one and you’re going to stick to it. You stick up for your self with your older sister a lot and that strong will of yours will take you places. You might take a little while to warm up to people, but once you do, watch out because your personality comes out!

Your sister is your best friend. You can’t wait for her to come home from school so you can play with her. You sing, dance, pretend, and have so much fun together. You look up to her and she has taught you so much. You love to learn from her when it comes to reading, writing and anything ‘school’ related.

You can be so meticulous with things. With crafting or decorating something you love to create patterns and keep things organized. You take your time with making things right. You are artistic. Although when things get challenging, it gets the best of you sometimes, but you’re working on that and we’re proud of you for it.

You can ride a bike with no training wheels! You walk/ride to school almost every day and we love those moments together with you. You have so much energy all the time and sleep has never been your forte. You literally run laps around our kitchen!

You are still a very petite little girl. Still in the fifth percentile for weight, but you have grown this year! You are still a finicky eater and a little vegetarian a lot of times, but you’re getting better at trying new things.

Are a sleep walker!! You don’t know how many times you have scared us. At least once a week you’ll wander out of your room, find us, and give us a hug. Then, without saying a word, just walk back to bed.

You want to be a teacher when you grow up.

Lucy, your name means ‘light’ and you certainly live up to that. You make each day brighter. With kindergarten right around the corner, you are growing up so fast! We can’t wait to see what God has in store for you little one. We love to pieces!!

Love, Daddy and Mommy
