Lucy's 7th Month

This month was full of movement!  Little Lucy has started to really move around the house.  Not quite crawling yet, but she's sure close :).

 

 

At seven months Lucy:

 

~ has gotten a lot better in the car and in her carseat!!  Yay!!!  There are far less tears on trips this month than last month.  Less tears = less stress for mom :).  Aubrey, as she always has, works really hard to calm her down in the car.

 

~ had her first double ear infection :(.  The first round of antibiotics didn't work so that turned one ear infection into two.  Finally the second antibiotic worked, but it was a long two weeks.  The poor girl was seen tugging her ear like this many times this month...

 

 

~  still has a clogged tear duct and it has flared up a bit this month.

 

~ loves her bath

 

 

~ still loves those tags on washcloths and toys

~ bobs her head to music more and more now.  We still haven't gotten a good video of it though :(.

 

~ is very happy outside and loves our walks in the evenings

 

 

~ is becoming more independent

 

~ cannot get enough of momma's hair

 

~ does a little modified army crawl to get around and...

 

 

... ends up in the craziest places sometimes.

 

 

~ wears mostly 3 month clothes but is in some 6 month clothes.

 

~ is in size two diapers (but we're using up the size ones that we have :) ).

 

~ loves moving to and destroying her sister's buildings

 

 

Thanks to modern technology we get to talk to our family who are out of town.  Lucy loves to try and touch their faces and get up close.

 

 

~ loves her sister Aubrey.  Aubrey is still the one who can really make Lucy laugh!

Height: 25 1/4 inches (19%)

 

 

Lucy is one VERY happy little girl!  She smiles constantly and her demeanor is so fun loving.  She really is our little sunshine. She smiles and people can't help but smile back at her.  We just couldn't get this girl to smile more.  Her personality is starting to show more and more each day and we just love seeing her grow and change.  She's growing up so fast!  We just want to stop the clock sometimes!!  (not at 2:30am when she's up however).  We're soaking up every cuddle, laugh, and opportunity to squeeze those little chunky legs.  Love you Lucy!  Happy seven months!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lucy's 6 Month

This month was FULL of many firsts and milestones!!  We can't believe this girl is already half a year old.  The time has just flown by!

 

At 6 months Lucy:

 

~ took her first trip to Utah to visit her uncle, aunt and cousin.  She spent 11 hours in the car and did really great!  You can read more about that trip here.

 

~ slept through the night for the first time on August 15.  She's done this several times now but not on a consistent basis.

 

~ keeps herself entertained pretty well

 

~ had her first solid foods on August 17.  So far she has eaten rice cereal, peas, and sweet potato with no problems.  Butternut squash and avocados are a no go right now, but we'll keep trying! You can see more on her first feeding here.

 

 

 

 

~ cocks her head to one side when she smiles really big.  Seriously one of the cutest things!

 

 

~ is SO happy when you go to get her from her crib after sleeping.  One of the best parts of my day :).

~ sat up!!  She officially sat up on August 20 (my brother's birthday).

 

 

 

 

~ is still wearing 3 month clothes and size one diapers but I think we'll be moving into size 2 diapers soon.

 

~ has mastered grabbing objects and reaches for everything at her eye level

 

~ takes two longer naps and one catnap in the evening.  As of late she's no longer taking that little nap.

 

~ likes to be outside a lot more now

 

~ loves the jumperoo that friends let us borrow

 

 

 

 

~ is very alert and really studies faces

 

~ she bobs her head back and forth when she's laying down and really tired or when she hears music all of a sudden playing.  We still need to get some video of her doing that.

 

~ definitely needs a toy or something to keep her busy when she's on the changing table.  This girl flips and moves around so quickly!

 

~ loves to make all kinds of noises

 

 

~ also loves it when you make any different noise.

 

~ laughs at her sister a lot.  These two are the cutest together!!  We can't wait to see how their relationship develops.  We hope they grow to become close and great friends to each other.

 

 

 

 

Lucy, you have added so much joy to our family and every day you grow and change we see little bits of your personality coming through.  Even for the little amount of sleep you get you are still one happy little girl and we love it!  You are very squeezable, cute, joyful and we couldn't imagine our lives without you.  You have changed so much this month and as fast as these 6 months have gone, we're trying to take in every sweet moment with you as such a happy baby.  We love you baby girl!  Happy half birthday!!
