Lucy is 15 months!

The first year of a baby's life is full of so many milestones and firsts, but the second isn't so far behind.  In an effort to remember some of Lucy's milestones I decided to do some updates throughout her second year.  She sure is growing and changing fast and I don't want to forget all these moments :).

Lucy has now been walking for three months now.  If she crawls, she crawls for a couple of seconds and then is back to walking/running again.  For having some short legs she is surprisingly very fast on her feet!!

Lucy LOVES to be outside!!

She really enjoys laying on the wet pavement for some reason.

This girl loves to paint and play with bubbles a lot!  We "paint" with water outside with a foam brush all the time.

A lot of objects are still going straight into her mouth :).

We frequent the park often and swing on the swings on almost a daily basis.

As of late she has loved picking up rocks and walking with them in her hands.

Again, object in mouth...

She loves to hand you a book, crawl into your lap, and have you read it to her.  Her favorite books at the moment are Brown Bear, Brown Bear and You Are My Cupcake, any books that have moving parts, and any Sandra Boynton books.

She makes noises representing different animals.  Whenever she sees a dog she starts barking like one.  A lot of her noises sound like a dog barking, but she tries :).

She drank through a straw, went on her first bike ride with daddy, and climbed onto a table for the first time just this month.

Speaking of climbing, she is a climber and climbs on to anything she can.  Any bed, a table, a slide, a chair, the couch.  We keep kidding that she's the one that's going to break her arm like her daddy did (but we're half serious).  She figured out how to climb onto the couch and not just sit on it...she wants to jump and play!

This girl is reckless and sees no danger and has no fear (except for heights).  When no one is watching her she likes to go into a room, climb and stand on the bed and throw herself back.  She's hit the nightstand several times but this hasn't stopped her a bit.

This girl is pretty mischievous.  She is obsessed with the toilet and has been found throwing objects and toilet paper rolls in and been caught playing in the water.

Lucy can throw some pretty epic tantrums!

Lucy's first visit to the family cabin happened about 2 months ago and can be found here.

Lucy loves to lick windows.  We're really trying to break her of this gross habit.

She got to attend her first wedding!

She really likes giving high fives!

She had her first Easter and the rest of those memories can be found here.

Teething hasn't been fun for this little girl and her little ears were hurting quite a bit it seemed.

But she always ended her teething pains with a smile :).

She enjoys pushing this stroller around the house all day.  She picks up her little baby and feeds her a bottle too.

This girl LOVES music just like her sister.  She loves to dance and move...the louder the better!

Lucy is a babbler.  She hasn't said too many words yet, but she does say hi, Aubrey, daddy, and tries to say thank you.  I'm still waiting for her to say mommy :).

She enjoys giving raspberries on other's tummies.  She thinks this is pretty funny :).

Lucy is a pretty good kicker in the water

She loves to look at fountains.

Looking at fish through the wood slats on the bridge at my parent's house has been pretty entertaining for her.  She lays there and keeps says, "Fishy, fishy!"

Loves to rock back and forth on her giraffe toy.

Lucy tried a lemon for the first time.  She wasn't a fan.

Likes playing with play dough and sitting at her sister's desk like a big girl.

She also loves to carry around the play dough containers and leave them in hiding places around the house.  It's always a fun game when you're cleaning up and find them in the most random of places.

Lucy had her first ocean and aquarium experiences at our trip to Monterey.  She loved the sand, but not the water so much.  She really liked the aquarium.  More about that trip can be found here.

Loves her afternoon snack time.  We tell her to go sit down and she goes straight to her seat and waits for her snack.  She usually finishes most of her snack and sits the entire time in her chair.   Most times she isn't as obedient, but when there is food involved she is :).

She is in mostly 9 month clothes, but some 12 month clothes fit as well.  She is in size three diapers.

One of our favorite things that she does is when we are rocking her to sleep and on the last note of any song that we're singing to her she'll chime in and sing the last note with you :).

Little Lucy loves her sister.  They share many laughs together and their interactions are becoming more interesting to sit back and watch.

Aubrey really loves to read to Lucy :).

Lucy is growing! Although she really seems to small to be walking :).
At her 15 month appointment three weeks ago she weighed 18 lbs, 13 oz (15%) and was 29 3/4 inches tall (21%).  She's been a really good eater lately and its finally showed these past few months!

You've changed and grown a lot this month Miss Lucy!  Here's to more growth and changes in the coming months :).

Celebrating 60!!

Yesterday we got to celebrate the big six-zero for my dad!

My mom really put on everything and I and others helped with some minor details :).  We celebrated in my parent's backyard with some close family and friends of my dad's.  It was great.

Before the party the girls had some good playtime with their grandpa outside.  What could be a better birthday present right?! :)

They looked at fishies,...

...played with bubbles,...

...picked the freshly planted flowers,...

...picked and ate lots of blueberries,...

...and jumped on Dido's back acting like he was younger than he really is :).

And there were some nice "high-fives" given throughout the evening :).

We had a great time celebrating this very special man in our lives!

Happy Birthday Papi (aka- Os, Dido, Old Man)!! We love you!!  Here's to many more years and blessings yet to come :).

Tea Time

For Mother's Day we gave our moms a certificate for a tea date with Aubrey and me.  Aubrey's friend Olivia had a tea party for her birthday once and Aubrey really liked it.  Aubrey and I have also had some tea and little snacks at home before, but this was going to be a "real" tea party and she couldn't have been more excited.  Aubrey picked out her dress and shoes and wanted me to put a braid in her hair.  The little girl is such a fashionista and she made sure everything in ensemble matched.  We were ready to go when the moms arrived at our house.

We drove over to the Power's Mansion Inn in Auburn, CA.  We were actually here for a good friend's wedding about 6 years ago and it was fun to be back at this old Victorian place.

We took our seats at our table that was set with matching tea cups and pretty linens.  Aubrey was all smiles and quite well behaved.  I was really proud of how polite and quietly she sat.  She was a little lady and looked so grown up! *tear :)

Aubrey had her own order of sandwiches (her favorite being one with sprinkles), cakes, and cookies and she picked out a crème brulee tea for herself.  She really enjoyed getting to plop in the little cubes of sugar and stirring till it dissolved.  There was a lot of sugar consumed that afternoon :).

We enjoyed some very good food, great time with a very special daughter and grand daughter, and some wonderful, special girl time together. I can't wait for Lucy to join us in the future :).

We all loved every minute of it :).

Father's Day 2014

Today daddy was greeted this morning when he came home from work with his two girls waiting for him and ready to give him his presents. We did another questionnaire sheet for him that Aubrey helped me fill out with her answers and that made for some funny morning reading :). We had a busy rest of the day today with church, lunch plans, and a wedding, but I think Brandon still felt special :).

He has been an amazing father for our two girls and I couldn't be more blessed in having Brandon for a husband. He is patient, loves on our girls, a dance king when it come to dance parties, a hard worker, and so much more!!

Not the best of pictures with the girls this year, but they still capture the moment :)

I couldn't be more thankful for this man in my life! Papi, we love you!!

Happy Father's Day to the very special men in our lives!! We love you so very much and appreciate all you do for us and for all that you are :). Thank you!!
