First Race Ever!

Today Brandon completed his first bike race ever!!  I couldn't be more proud of him!  Anyone who has ever had a spouse or a friend train for some sort of physical race or endeavor of that nature you know that it's a lot of work and a big time commitment.

Brandon has really enjoyed riding his bike and in the last year he's made it a priority to get on his bike more.  His mom was looking into this Honor Ride race and she asked if he wanted to do it.  With some hesitation he agreed!  With his crazy work hours some weeks I was impressed how he really made it a priority to get many miles on that bike in and still make time for his family and other commitments.  I am so proud of this accomplishment for him!!  I know that it took a lot of work preparing for this ride, but he did it!!!

Way to go Brandon!!  I'm so incredibly proud to be by your side supporting you through this and seeing it through till the end.  Awesome job!!

Springfest 2015

Each year Aubrey's preschool puts on Springfest!  Its an end-of-the-year carnival style party put on by all the teachers and staff and SO much fun!  It didn't exactly feel like spring this particular day as it was pretty cold, but with all the energy our girls have, they didn't feel the cold much :).

This year's theme was treasure island. I didn't get any pictures of the decorations or the booths, but each one was decorated to perfection and so adorable!  So much hard work went into making this event so exciting and fun!  The girls had fun in the three different bounce houses, face painting, horseback riding, and Lucy's favorite...a train ride!! (She is absolutely crazy about anything train related right now :) ).

What a way to end the school year off!  Thank you Centerpoint for a wonderful family night!  Thanks for creating some great memories of these sweet preschool days with us!

Zoo Day!

A few months ago, (yes months) Ashleigh and I decided to take the kiddos on a special play date to the zoo. We had an awesome time! The kids were so well behaved that day which made for even better moments :). I loved seeing these kiddos together enjoying the animals and awing at so many of them. The moms had a pretty awesome time together too :).

Daddy's Home! [park time just us]

It as only 10 days, but some days seemed to drag on.  Brandon was at a training in Oklahoma and it was just the girls and I on the home front.  Now, I know so many other moms do this parenting thing by themselves day in and day out and I have a new respect for them!  With Brandon's schedule we have a few days where it's just the girls and I.  The evening are always the hardest, but we get through each week.  But there was something about knowing that I was the only parent around that made things just a little more challenging.  Brandon's flight home on Friday was cancelled so we had one extra day without daddy, but Saturday came and he was finally home!!

Sunday evening we spent it at our local park swinging, climbing, flying kites, and running around.  We were just glad to have Brandon back and we just love our times together as a family!!

Lucy always seems to be hurting her knee somehow :).

Thank you to all the family and friends who helped us out and were so willing to help keep these busy girls fed, entertained, and loved!  Just knowing you were so willing to help out in any way made such a difference (and you know who you are :) ).  It helped the time without daddy go so much faster and smoother!  Love and appreciate you all so much!

Everyday family life can get mundane and tiresome at times, but you really appreciate those days and moments when they're not quite the same :).

Welcome back daddy!  We missed you!
