On March 7 we went down to Monterey for a little family get away with Grandpa and Grandma Pierce and the three of us.
We had absolutely beautiful weather and we definately took advantage of it. The first day we went on a 14 mile bike ride along the coast. We stopped many times along the way to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Luckily the next day we weren't sore in the least!
On the way we stopped by the butterfly grove. It was long ride uphill, and although the bufferflies were mostly gone, the trek was well worth the work.
Aubrey had to stop along the way to smell the flowers :)
While Aubrey napped and was being watched by her grandparents, Brandon and I went Mission Carmel. This was Brandon's fourth grade mission project and he hadn't been there since then.
That evening we went to Dennis the Menace Park where there was a roller slide, tons of sand, rope bridge, and multiple playing structures. Aubrey had so much fun...along with her grandparents :)
It was so fun to see Aubrey thoroughly enjoying herself on every slide down!
Our little "manace" ;)
We stopped by the ocean's edge to take some family pictures...
On our last day we went into Point Lobos State Park where the views were breaktaking...
The waves were high that day and Brandon coined the term "tumoltuousness" to describe the churning surf.
We had a wonderful time spending time together, taking some time to relax, and enjoying the beautiful coast.
