This last week we had the opportunity to be with Krystal and Norah while Jon took his youth kids on a missions trip to San Francisco. Krystal and Norah flew in while Jon and the rest of the kids drove. They drove through Sacramento Friday so we got the chance to see Jon for a little bit at the beginning of his trip.
The rest of the week we got to spend a lot of time together. We celebrated my dad's birthday and we even went on an overnight trip just me, my sister, my mom and the three girls. We were hoping to spend some time with Jon Wednesday evening, but it didn't pan out :(. We had great time spending time together in the city and at the hotel. This was also Lucy's first overnight stay at a hotel.
Aubrey soaked up the time by the pool in the afternoon :)
And the girls loved looking at the fishies during our snack time.
The trip was great except for a few hiccups. Lucy still doesn't like her car seat or the car and cried for most of our time in the car :(. And this one really scared me. Aubrey went into the elevator while I was right behind her with the luggage. One bag fell outside the elevator so I went to go pick it up and before I could get into the elevator again the doors closed with Aubrey inside...without mom!! I tried to stay calm but I was shaking inside. This was by far the most scared I had ever been in my life and so many thoughts went through my head. Luckily there was a second elevator and my sister went down while I waited for the one that Aubrey was in to come back. When the doors opened and I didn't see Aubrey even more thoughts ran through my head and I couldn't help the tears. So I got into the elevator hoping that she was down in the lobby. That was the longest elevator ride ever. The doors opened and there was Aubrey in Krystal's arms. She had been found by a guy who got a housekeeper who escorted her down. I just thanked God nothing else happened. She had a look on her face that I won't forget for a while. She just said, "Mommy I was scared." All I could think to say was, "I was scared too." Poor girl. I'm so glad that nothing worse happened and I've learned a lesson.
The rest of our week was spent together whenever we could and we soaked in all the moments. Norah is changing and growing up so much and she just cracked us up. What a personality! We just love her to pieces.
These two couldn't be separated all week :).
On their last day here Aubrey got a little pedicure from her aunt.
We really look forward to the next visit and time together. We miss you guys already!!
