This year's Easter was a pretty special one. The girls are at a stage where holidays and celebrations are just so fun and we know it will only get better. They are (well, mostly Aubrey at this point I guess :) ) understanding so much more of the true meaning for each big holiday and that makes the preparing and celebrating even more special.
This year was the first year we actually decorated Easter eggs. While Lucy was taking a nap, Brandon and I had some special time with Aubrey.
We set it all up for her and then it was time for her to get coloring :).
We did the old school drawing-on-the-egg-with-a-wax-crayon technique :)
Aubrey at times had her own interpretation of "placing" the egg into the cup. There were only a couple of times the colored water mixture splashed outside the cup :).
Aubrey really did a good job and she was pretty content with her color choices.
Easter day we went to church in the morning and then celebrated all together with both sets of grandparents, great-grandparents, uncle Tyler and friends. Our good friends, the Jicklings, joined us for the festivities.
Nana made the girls cute little Easter baskets just perfect for the girls' sizes.
Before lunch we hunted the over 50 eggs we had hidden for the kids. It was so fun to see these adorable kiddos together and searching so intently for those eggs.
Well...maybe not so intentional in searching for the eggs at times :)
Candy consumption before lunch was at a high this Easter for most of the kids :).
Aubrey of course was quality control.
We had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed the wonderful weather and the outdoors a little more in the afternoon. The kids looked so cute dipping their feet into the pool. It was a very warm day and perfect weather for feet dipping.
Aubrey's hand on her knee kills me!
Davis just had to get some water all by himself :).
We did actually get a family picture.
This one looks about right for Lucy :).
Aubrey took a little dip in the spa in the evening and Lucy wandered around the yard pointing at everything interesting in sight.
It was a wonderful time celebrating and remember all that Christ has done for us.
