Today was Lucy's turn...a first for her, all to herself. It was her first day of preschool!
Her older sister has led the way with milestones and firsts, but today was special because today was about Lucy and today brought about a big milestone for her.
In hearing Aubrey and Lucy's conversation last night while I was making dinner, Aubrey asked Lucy, "Are you excited for preschool tomorrow?"
Lucy said, "Yeah, I'm excited" in a soft voice.
Then Aubrey tried to be encouraging and said, "Well, you'll get to meet new friends at school, learn new things, and play at the park!"
Lucy then replied, "Your friends?"
It was then it kind of hit me that Lucy hasn't had many things to call her own. Lucy has always been really good about playing with Aubrey's friends, being on Aubrey's schedule for school and activities, but she hasn't had much that was just about her, all her own. I guess it may be a second child thing, but today was a special day for her.
Last night we got all her things ready in her pink, sparkly backpack, she had her choice of breakfast this morning, she chose to wear pigtails in her hair and then she was ready. Lucy was so excited and despite her being a little tired this morning, she was ready to go!
Lucy is only going to preschool very part time right now, but we're excited to see the growth, learning, changes, and fun that will come with preschool!
We love you Lucy girl and we're trilled for this new milestone adventure in your life! And this time it's all you :). Here's to friends, fun, and learning!
