Visting Jon and Krystal

So Aubrey and I treked out to see Jon and Krystal the week after Easter.  It was Krystal's break from work so we took a break from life in Sacramento to spend some quality time with them :).  We didn't take as many pictures this time, but on one of our first days there we went to the zoo.  We joined Jon's brother and sister-in-law, Nate and Jackie, and their five kids, Josiah, Hannah, Grace, Naomi, and Abe.  We had a great time and Abe just loved to take care of Aubrey :)

Aubrey rode the carousel for the first time with her uncle Jon :)  She wasn't too sure at first, but once she went around a couple of time she was definately a fan!

We also rode an a little train and Aubrey loved to make the "choo-choo" sound.

hmmm...are we related? :)
During the week we also ate out a lot (and at one restaurant Aubrey flung her peas and pasta across the room...really fun time for mom!), went shopping, went to Cabela's to check out the animals and fish, and looked for baby things for the expectant little Fox.  We had a great time together.

Aubrey did great on both flights!  She was, however, sick on the flight back, but luckily the worst part of her stomach flu didn't hit till we got home :(.

Easter 2012

This Easter we spent with the Pierce side of the family.  We went over to Brandon's parent's house where we joined his grandparents, brother, future sister-in-law, cousin Brooke, and my grandparents.  We had a tasty meal, had a little egg hunt, and had a yummy bunny cake.

Aubrey's great grandparents, Mimi and Corky, gave her a little chicken that sang and laid eggs.  It was a huge hit!

Aubrey got an Easter basket with a ball in it and she had so much fun with it all day.

The dog is still one of Aubrey's favorite "toys."

Aubrey had her first egg hunt :)

She enjoyed putting each egg that she found into a basket.

Aubrey also enjoyed her dairy-free cake and was on a little bit of a sugar high afterwards :) (Note the face)

As always, she took time to smell the flowers.

A few projects we've been working on...

So this one was a combined family effort and I just had to share...

My good friend Jennifer is getting married in May and for her bridal shower gift I decided to make her a key hook.  I wanted to do something a little more personal.

Here's the final product!

My grandfather and dad made the actual frame, we spray painted chalkboard on the sides, and in the middle is glass with their wedding date and initials!  My sister made the logo (one creative girl!) and we made it into a vinyl decal to stick on the glass.  One of my favorite parts is the background behind the glass...you can change the paper/fabric behind it :).

I was just so proud of the final product and so proud of my family's talent.  The idea might have been mine, but I couldn't have done it without my wonderful family.  Thank you all so much!!

The bride and groom also arrived a little early :)

Family Trip

On March 7 we went down to Monterey for a little family get away with Grandpa and Grandma Pierce and the three of us.

We had absolutely beautiful weather and we definately took advantage of it.  The first day we went on a 14 mile bike ride along the coast.  We stopped many times along the way to enjoy the breathtaking scenery.  Luckily the next day we weren't sore in the least!

On the way we stopped by the butterfly grove.  It was long ride uphill, and although the bufferflies were mostly gone, the trek was well worth the work.

Aubrey had to stop along the way to smell the flowers :)

While Aubrey napped and was being watched by her grandparents, Brandon and I went Mission Carmel.  This was Brandon's fourth grade mission project and he hadn't been there since then.

That evening we went to Dennis the Menace Park where there was a roller slide, tons of sand, rope bridge, and multiple playing structures.  Aubrey had so much fun...along with her grandparents :)

It was so fun to see Aubrey thoroughly enjoying herself on every slide down!

Our little "manace" ;)

We stopped by the ocean's edge to take some family pictures...

On our last day we went into Point Lobos State Park where the views were breaktaking...

The waves were high that day and Brandon coined the term "tumoltuousness" to describe the churning surf.

We had a wonderful time spending time together, taking some time to relax, and enjoying the beautiful coast.
