Happy Easter!

This year we had the opportunity to have two Easter celebrations.  We had our first one at Mike and Mary's house earlier in the week.  Aubrey got an Easter basket and got to wear her pretty dress for the first time.  Since I am still on the milk free diet the menu ended up being a little different than a regular Easter dinner would be, but it was delicious.  We had ribs, rice, grilled asparagus and Mimi made a dairy-free strawberry pie just for me!  I was so appreciative.  Aubrey was a little tired that evening, but we had a good time celebrating with wonderful family.

Our second celebration was on Easter Sunday with the Maz side of the family.  Krystal and Evie made cake pops for the table settings this year.  It was some work, but we had fun making them and they were a big hit :)

Aubrey and mom got to go to Aubrey's first Easter service at church and then it was on to lunch at the Maz home.  We had grilled kabobs, chicken phyllo (which because of the amount of work I won't be making it again any time soon :) ), and many other trimmings.  We also had a delicious cake baked by our favorite bakery Divine Desserts.  It was a milk explosion day for me which I thoroughly enjoyed!  It turned out to be such a beautiful day out side that the boys played crochet while the girls chatted.  Aubrey was awesome this day.  It was a wonderful first Easter!

The crochet game lasted a little longer than anyone anticipated, but they had fun :)

Good friends Craig and Mariela joined us for the afternoon.  They are expecting thier first baby girl in August!!

The pretty momma

Everything was in bloom in the backyard.  It was beautiful!

Without Christ we wouldn't have an Easter.  What a beautiful time we had celebrating what HE did for US on these days of celebration.

Greatest man in history, named Jesus, had no servants, yet they called him Master. Had no degree, yet they called him Teacher. Had no medicines, yet they called him Healer. He had no army, yet kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet he conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him... He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today!

Young love

Yesterday, we had a little play date with Ashleigh and Zachary Purinton.  It was a beautiful day, so we went for a long walk and later had some playtime at the house.  Aubrey couldn't get enough of Zach!  She kept on giggling and grabbing his shirt and hair.  (I guess we'll have to talk to her soon about these things :) ) The playing made for a cute picture and some great laughs and smiles for the moms :).

ZZZZZZ....ZZZZ

So yesterday, due to some other controllers falling asleep on the job, we found out that Brandon now has to work midnights with another person and not by himself.  In essence this would be a great thing, but it's been hard on me today.  He'll have to work 6 day work weeks for a while and two midnight shifts per week instead of just one.  I already don't like having to deal with that, but now two!

Despite this news, it is a blessing that he'll be getting paid for all his time.  Just praying for strength and guidance through this time :)

Five Months

At five months Aubrey:
~ Grabs at everything including mom's hair, cups, and remotes.
~ Started to really dislike sleep...especially at night :(
~ Likes to be sung to.
~ Started to scoot around on her tummy like a little caterpillar.  Oh boy, is crawling just on the horizon?
~ Sitting up really well with just a little support
~ Started to put her toes in her mouth.  She does this a lot on the changing table.
~ Started a prescription formula for some of her feedings this month and she's gained some weight and she's acting a lot happier.  Mom is still on the milk-free diet though.
~ Started to really chunk up, especially in her legs.  We love those little rolls!
~ Loves the jungle bouncer we got to borrow from a friend.  She's still not quite tall enough so we had to put a pillow underneath her :)

~ Loves to look at and touch faces.  Really laughs when you pretend your biting her fingers off.
~ Drops objects and follows them.
~ Really getting good at rolling from her tummy to her back and to her tummy again.  We can't leave her for very long before she's nowhere close to where we set her down.  Such exciting milestones to see!
~ Loves to crawl up on you when you're trying to burp her.  This makes for some pretty big messes for whoever is holding her.
~ Still a momma's girl, but she loves her daddy!

~ Loves being outside and is liking her car seat more = not crying as much in the car...finally!
~ Today was weighed at 12 lbs, 6oz!!  Yay!!
~ Went to the cardiologist today and the heart murmur is nothing to worry about.  Lots of praise for this!!

She's learning and changing a little bit each and everyday.  Happy five months Aubrey!!
