The Big 32 {birthday}

Brandon's birthday this year fell on Memorial Day and he was scheduled to work :(.  So, we brought a little birthday dinner to him!

The girls and I made some of Brandon's favorites for dinner and we enjoyed dinner together on one of his breaks that evening.  Aubrey absolutely LOVES visiting daddy at work and it being his birthday made it even more special :).

We made a quick trip to the terminal to see the "big bunny" and headed back home while daddy stayed back at work.

It was sad to leave daddy and even more sad for me on the drive home as Aubrey literally cried we had to leave.  With tears streaming down her face she said, "I miss daddy.  I had so much fun."  How sweet is that?!

Happy 32nd birthday Brandon!!  We love you and we're so glad we got to celebrate with you on your special day!

A Day at the Beach

One Saturday in May, we decided we just needed some time away from Sacramento.  It's been a whirlwind with so many things right now (one of the them being my brother back in the hospital for a time....again), so we felt the need to forget our worries and have some fun for the day.

We wanted something close, yet different to go to.  When a friend mentioned this little beach was one of her favorite places to go to, we thought we should give it a try.  And it did not disappoint!

Our close friends, the Purintons, joined us for our little day adventure.  They made rice krispie treats, I made some jello-pudding cookies, and we enjoyed watching our kiddos play in the sand, fly their kites and enjoy the day together.  It was a little on the cold side this particular day, but the kids really had a good time...and we had a great time relaxing.

By the end of a few hours, however, the littlest two of the four were pretty cold.  Their sweet little lips were even blue!  So it was time to pack up and head towards some warmer areas.

We headed out towards San Francisco, sat and watched planes take off and land at the airport park, and then had dinner before we headed back home that evening.  It was a wonderful day full of good conversation, laughs and lots of relaxing for all of us.  We needed a day like this for a while :).

Mother's Day 2015

Goodness.  These girls bring so much joy to my life!  I couldn't imagine life without them and how special each day is with them in it!  I'm so lucky and blessed to be a mom to these two cuties and each and every mother's day seems to get a little more special :).

Today we went to church and then went out to brunch just the four of us.  The girls were so well behaved as we sat outside on a beautiful terrace overlooking some beautiful oak trees, felt the nice breeze of the perfect weather day, and enjoyed some really good food.  It was absolutely perfect.

Some days I don't always count my blessings with these two as some days are just plain rough. Motherhood is not easy, but oh so rewarding in so many ways.  Aubrey and Lucy are growing up so fast and I feel like some moments pass by way too quickly for my liking.  They have made each and every day a new adventure!  They are so fun, full of energy, and funny!  The stage that both of the girls are in right now has been my favorite.  They way they interact and talk to each other is just hilarious sometimes and I wish I could capture each one of those little sayings, their mannerisms and their conversations on video to have forever.  I cherish these two so much it hurts sometimes :).

And this year I seriously got one of the most special gifts ever...

...a drawing of both of our girls from one of our very gifted friends Hayley!!  She put all of the girls' favorite things in this picture and it depicts one of my favorite moments with them.  I can't tell you how much this picture means to me! Thank you Hayley for sharing your talent and blessing me with this priceless gift!!

Love you two sweethearts!  You've made me one very thankful and blessed momma.  Thanks Brandon for making today so special for me and thank you girls for all that you are to me!
