This December really just flew by! With out of town weekends and two very busy girls, we had quite the busy December.
We decorated a tree. This year we went to a local place right down the road from us to get one. It was recommended from a friend and I would go back there in a heartbeat!
Lucy was pretty into the lights :).
Aubrey loved sitting and playing by the Christmas tree all month.
Aubrey melted our hearts when she learned all the words to "Oh Holy Night" and sang that for us.
We had a chance to look at some Christmas lights a couple of nights. The nights were a bit cold so our outings were short lived, but it was so fun to see the girls get excited :).
Brandon and I got to decorate a gingerbread house with Aubrey this year. Aubrey picked out the candy with daddy and after dinner one night we decorated. Although tempting, Aubrey did a good job at not eating her weight in frosting this year :).
We even had some time to squeeze in some cookie baking. We went with store bought cookie dough to save some time, but it tasted good nonetheless. You can tell how much Aubrey loves sprinkles by the pile she dumped on her cookie :). She loves sprinkles just like momma.
Christmas finally arrived. Brandon was working Christmas Eve and Christmas morning so the girls and I spent the night at my parent's house and had breakfast and presents with them and my brother who was in town.
Aubrey had reindeer pancakes for her Christmas breakfast :).
Aubrey got a crib and high chair to better take care of her doll Emily with and she took full advantage of the new gear the next day. What a sweet little momma. Mommas need breaks too :).
We went home for the girl's naps and when Brandon got home from work late afternoon we had our own little Christmas. We woke Aubrey up and she opened up her presents from us.
Each Christmas keeps getting better and better as she understands more and gets even more excited over even the littlest things. We got her a Cinderella PEZ dispenser and she couldn't be happier about it!
We also got her a digital camera that can take the pictures and then project them on the wall. Gotta start the girl young! :) She loves taking pictures of us with a pretend camera I got for a couple of dollars so we thought this would be a great gift for a future photographer :). She got pretty excited about it and the pictures that she has been taking are pretty funny.
When Lucy woke up from her nap we were off to Nana and Papa's for Christmas dinner. Since this was Lucy's first Christmas we just had to get some family pictures with her, even if she was a little tired and cranky.
We had a wonderful, delicious dinner and then opened presents afterwards. Lucy had fun crawling around and getting into all the Christmas decorations.
She also had some fun making some noise.
And Lucy has been moving from object to object more and more these days and standing for seconds at a time.
She looked too cute in her Christmas dress :).
I think she felt pretty cute too :).
This month and Christmas day seemed jam packed. We had a great time with family and friends celebrating the real reason for the season and enjoying getting to teach Aubrey more about the birth of Jesus. This Christmas season was also so special with our little Lucy and celebrating her first. Hope everyone had a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!!
